Am I Covered for Coronavirus?

With everything that’s going on in the world at the moment, you could be concerned about how coronavirus (COVID-19) could affect your Life Insurance application or policy. We understand your concern and we would like to address any potential questions you have about taking out a life insurance policy with FRANKLi during the coronavirus pandemic.

Does FRANKLi’s Life Insurance cover death as a result of coronavirus?

Yes, you are covered from day one under our Life Insurance and Mortgage Life Insurance policies for death by any cause (except for death as a result of intentional self-inflicted injury during the first 12 months).

I have tested positive for coronavirus or I have been in close contact with someone who has contracted the virus, can I take out a policy?

You can apply to take out a Life Insurance or a Mortgage Life Insurance policy with FRANKLi as long as you are a UK resident aged 18 to 84. During the application process, we will not request a medical examination but we will ask you some health and lifestyle questions. We will ask questions about coronavirus and your responses to these questions could affect your application.

Can the cost of my insurance premiums increase as a result of coronavirus?

No, the cost of your premiums will remain the same for the duration of your policy if you choose a level term policy or a Mortgage Life Insurance policy. If you choose an increasing term policy, you can expect the cost of your premiums to rise each year in conjunction with the RPI (Retail Price Index). Coronavirus will not affect the cost of your premiums.
